Absolutely! We use PayU for card transactions, a world-leading, Netherlands-based, PCI-DSS compliant payment solution currently operating in 18 markets worldwide. All information shared during the transaction is encrypted (128 bit SSL encryption). None of us at Bananas Adventure can view your credit/debit card details. Your credit/debit card details are permanently deleted from our system 14 days after check-out.
First, check your spam/junk box. If it’s not there, contact us at [email protected] to verify that the e-mail address provided at the time of booking is correct. For third-party bookings (Booking.com, Hostelworld, Expedia, etc) please contact them directly.
Non-refundable rates are more restrictive as refunds will not issued in case you need to cancel your booking. Standard rates are more flexible and allow you to change or cancel your booking free of charge up to 24 hours before arrival. If you made your booking through a third-party agent (Booking.com, Hostelworld, Expedia, etc), please cancel or modify your booking directly through them. In most cases, the modification/cancelation option is available in the e-mail confirmation you received from them at the time of booking.

For COVID-19 related events, you will need to provide proof of your situation via e-mail. If your flight/bus cancelation is caused by COVID-19 global travel restrictions, you will still need to contact us to change or cancel your booking.
Other extenuating circumstances for exceptional cancelation requests include civil unrest (civil disorders or strikes), wars, inclement weather and/or natural disasters. In some cases (if these events happen outside of Peru), proof/evidence may be needed or required.
We do not make exceptions in the event of an unexpected, non-COVID-19-related flight/bus/trip cancelation or delay but we do provide a payment receipt for compensation purposes with your airline/bus company or insurance company.
We assess exceptional booking cancelation requests individually, at our own discretion.
We accept Peruvian Soles and US dollars for payment at reception and at our bar and restaurant. We accept cash and credit/debit cards of any brand at no extra cost.
If you booked a Standard Rate, you can pay upon arrival at reception. Your card may be pre-authorized at any time after booking to check for sufficient funds and validity.
If you booked a Non-Refundable rate, your card may be charged in advance at any time after booking. You will be notified once your card has been charged. If not, you can still pay upon arrival.
We will contact you to request new credit/debit card details or otherwise a different payment method to guarantee your booking. If you don’t/can’t provide valid credit/debit card details within the next few hours after booking, your booking may be subject to cancelation at any time. We can only hold and honor bookings with valid credit/debit cards that have sufficient funds to cover the total price for your stay.
If you will be using a credit/debit card that is not registered under your name to confirm your booking, you must e-mail us an authorization signed by the card holder in which they clearly state their consent (given to you) and the purposes for which the card will be used. The authorization must additionally state the dates of travel, your official ID number (passport, official Government ID or Driver’s license), the date on which the authorization was signed, the last 4 digits printed on the front of the card, the brand and bank name. You must also e-mail us a scanned copy of the card holder’s valid ID (passport, official Government ID or Driver’s license). Other verification methods may be required to secure your booking.

Yes! We have a secure storage room for bags and it’s totally free of charge. You can hang out at the hostel and use all the facilities while you wait for check-in or after check-out.
Unfortunately, we don’t. If the room is ready before 2:00pm, you may check in earlier but this is subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.
Our included breakfast is served from 6:45 AM until 11:00 AM. If you need to leave the hostel early the next morning, let the overnight receptionist know the night before so the kitchen staff can box it up for you.
Our included breakfast usually includes breads, butter, jam, fried or scrambled eggs, coffee or herbal teas, mixed juices and pancakes/crepes, but it can always vary.
Our bar is open from 7:00 am until 10:00 pm (may vary slightly). Our restaurant is open from 12:00 m (noon) until 10:00 pm (may vary slightly).
For sure! Our bar and restaurant are open to non-guests, however they’re not allowed in the rooms/dorms and can only stay until 10:00 pm. Our swimming pool is for guests only.

No, there’s no kitchen for guest use at our hostel.
Currently, we don’t. As Huacachina and Ica are so close to each other, it is easy to take a cab from the bus station. It usually takes around 10 minutes by taxi to get from Ica to our hostel in Huacachina. It should cost you between S/8.00 and S/15.00 (soles) depending on the time, number of passengers and baggage weight/size.
Our swimming pool is open between 9:00 am and 10:00 pm.
Our swimming pool is about 5′ 3″ ft. deep (1.60 m. deep) and about 16′ 40″ x 9′ 80″ sq. ft. (5×4 sq. m.)
Unfortunately, we don’t have parking space inside the hostel. There’s street parking available. It is your responsibility to let our overnight receptionist know in advance where you’ve parked your vehicle so they can keep an eye on it.

No, no outside food or drinks are allowed at the hostel or inside the rooms/dorms.

Shared dorms are booked by the bed, meaning you will share the room with people that are NOT from your party and/or that you don’t know. It is an option mostly for backpackers.

Our 4-bed dorms have personal security boxes for valuables (cameras, passports, money, cellphones, etc.). You will need your own padlock for your security box.
Our 6-bed dorms have lockers and you will need your own padlock, too.
No, but we’ll be considering that in the future based on demand.
We cannot guarantee that an entire party of 2 people or more who are booked under the same reservation will be assigned to the same dorm or otherwise evenly distributed across dorms (for larger parties). We strive to make this happen but it is always subject to availability and again, may not be guaranteed. This is mainly because you’re booking beds and not private rooms.
Yes! Our hostel guarantees a safe environment for LGBTQ+ guests and visitors. If your pronouns do not match the information on your official ID, please contact us right after booking.
